DIY NEUROTECHNOLOGY

You can control Google’s Dino game by blinking, making music with your muscles, and creating visuals with your brainwaves. Actually, you can do much more! But during this workshop, we will focus on that, it's the place to get hands-on with do-it-yourself neurotechnology hardware. Neurotechnology is an emerging field that came across as fields like neuroscience, computation, and electronics converged. Today's industry and research landscape within neurotechnology is expanding rapidly, from recreational tools, to very advanced medical equipment. Neurotechnology has reserved a seat in our very near future, entering the domains of leisure, gaming, health and therapeutics, and much more. During the workshop, we will walk through the basics, what is neurotechnology, and how it has been democratized. After that, we will get to see some examples of how it's been used, to make art, and cure patients, and finally, get hands-on, and play around with the hardware. No prior knowledge is expected, this workshop is free and open to the public. No age restrictions.

EYE SEE YOU WITH VICTOR SITALI

Join Tashkeel member and fine artist Victor Sitali for a one-hour sketching session to capture the human eye. All stories begin in the eye, according to Victor: “It’s always from the eye. It starts right there. And then you start to widen out and see the whole story.” Sit down, relax and draw a human eye using charcoal and paper. Attendance is free of charge but seating is limited. Open to all ages.

SQ is an Emirati rapper & songwriter born and raised in Abu Dhabi. With over 18 years of recording experience, he can perform across a wide range of music styles and genres, in both English and his native language arabic. Combining traditional hip hop with modern musical styles from the middle east, SQ uses a signature cadence and rhythmic structures that make him uniquely versatile. He has also enjoyed collaborations with the likes of Soultrotter, and Arqam the Emirati soul singer.
A virtuoso bass player who expresses his versatility in various genres of music which includes but not limited to Jazz, Pop, Blues, R'n'B, and Bollywood to mention a few. He is known for his bass techniques,his rolling notes and modes played over the fretboard. With experience that spans over a decade of performance with several bands in the UAE and internationally, he is noted for his professionalism and positive attitude to work and projects in which he has been involved.

During the session, participants will paint a modern 3 in 1 mbkhara (incense burner) with islamic motifs related to UAE culture. Each participant gets to take home their hand-painted ceramic bkhoor burner.
