What would happen if you developed a healthy relationship with your Inner Critic? Instead of pushing it away or succumbing to its power – what if you could understand it deeply and work together in practical and creative ways?

BY TEHREEM PASHA

One of the most famous forms of Islamic art is Iznik pottery, which is renowned for its intricate and geometric designs. In this workshop, participants will learn how to create their own Islamic Iznik pattern, drawing inspiration from the traditional designs and techniques used in this ancient art form.

The workshop will start with a brief overview of the history and cultural significance of Islamic Iznik pottery. Participants will learn about the various styles of Islamic art and the different techniques used to create intricate designs. They will then be introduced to the traditional methods used to create an Iznik pattern, such as using geometric shapes and repeating patterns.

Next, participants will learn how to create their own Iznik pattern using only traditional tools and techniques. They will be taught how to draw their designs by hand, using pencils, rulers, and compasses to create precise geometric shapes. They will then be shown how to add color to their designs using traditional methods, such as hand painting with vibrant pigments and glazes.

Throughout the workshop, participants will receive guidance and support from the instructor, who will be on hand to answer any questions and offer advice on how to improve their designs. They will also have the opportunity to share their work with the group and receive feedback from their peers.
