The Majlis Gallery

House 52

The Majlis Gallery, having opened its doors in 1989, has become a haven for artists and art lovers from across the globe. Now holding the title as the first fine art gallery in Dubai, it houses works by artists from across the Middle East and beyond. Founded by the late Alison Collins, the Majlis was born out of a love for art, paired with the realisation that there was an absence of a space for artists to showcase their work. A Majlis is defined as a meeting place or common ground. Over the years, it has met that description and performed well beyond it, establishing itself as a true oasis for creative minds.

‘Quietude: A Solo Exhibition of Matt Ryder’s Landscapes and Florals’

Matt Ryder is an award-winning British artist living and working in Dubai, UAE. Ryder is inspired by the desert landscapes which surround him, and by the beauty of the natural world at large.

Ryder works primarily with oil paints and The Majlis Gallery is thrilled to be hosting an exhibition of his landscapes and floral works, starting the week of the Sikka Art Fair. The Majlis Gallery will also be hosting a live demonstration with the artist himself on March 20th, which is open for bookings.

General Collection of Artwork

Alongside our solo show of Matt Ryder’s artwork, we have a large collection of works which hail from all corners of the world. Being Dubai’s first Fine Art Gallery, we have numerous artists who have exhibited with us from the very early days of the Gallery’s journey. All our work is available to purchase, but you are more than welcome to come and spend the afternoon unwinding in our serene courtyard and wandering through the gallery rooms.
