DREAMCATCHER
BY MAY ALI

This dreamcatcher weaving workshop is an exciting opportunity for kids between the ages of 8 and 14 to learn a traditional Native American craft. Guided by our multidisciplinary artist, May Ali, they will learn how to weave a dreamcatcher using natural materials like feathers, beads, and string. The children will explore their creativity and learn new techniques as they create their own unique dreamcatchers to take home.

This workshop is perfect for kids who love crafting, art, and learning about different cultures. The process of making a dreamcatcher is both fun and educational, as the children will learn about the symbolism and purpose of dreamcatchers in Native American culture. At the end of the workshop, each child will have their own dreamcatcher to hang in their room, reminding them of the experience and the new skills they've learned.

PERFORMING ARTS WORKSHOP
BY BOOK HERO

I Feel, Therefore I am

A reflective workshop that will enable children to tap into their feelings and share what makes them happy, confused or overwhelmed. What do they wish adults knew better about them? How can they be more comfortable expressing themselves without worry? There will be a few group activities where they can use movement and voice to express themselves and have fun. Then as an individual project, they will craft a handbook themed ‘This is Me’ to share tidbits through art and words – Do’s and don’ts for others to follow when spending time with them, what they love about their world, their little wishes. We hope they can take pride in their work and share this book with the people they love.
