wearable sculpture workshop - session 01: digital jewelry design
Eman Shafiq & Poras Dhakan
Striving to push the boundaries of form-making in contemporary jewelry design, this workshop will consist of an iterative design process involving a fusion of digital design, 3D-printing and traditional artisanal handcrafts to create sculptural jewelry pieces that draw inspiration from natural forms. The workshop will start with a quick sketching session to get ideas on paper and work out the sculptural piece. Then Eman will teach the participant how to digitally model the sketches for 3D printing. Finally, participants will get the chance to design and model their own pieces to bring to session 02 of this workshop TRADITIONAL JEWELRY CASTING with PORAS DHAKAN.
Participants should bring their own laptops with the Autodesk Maya software pre installed.
